This is fantastic analysis (as always)! You so accurately portray a phenomenon and shift that’s happening all around us, but is really hard to articulate. When I’ve found indie artists who I assume have millions of followers but only have a handful, I feel like I’ve discovered treasure. Surprise > sponsors.
Totally agree with the mass produced sentiment - rhode just did a popup in London and it looked like madness! This also made me wish Curbed would bring back their eavesdropping column!
“making the most out of being small and personable, getting customer face time, and moving with the speed and creativity that corporations can’t afford.” Needed this reminder today. Thank you for this. Your thoughts are some of my favorites online 🤍
Finally getting around to reading, and I'm so glad I did. Hard agree with everything you've written- these are the type of experiences that speak to me too, and as someone who is in the very early stages of starting a brand, that I hope to create. Looking forward to digging into your IRL guide for ideas & inspiration, thanks for sharing it! Also, I tried Raazi Chai a few weeks ago, it's soo good! <3
So good, Viktoria! Love what you do. I went to London in 2021, when covid seemed to slow down and there were a few streets full on ooh advertising, and crazy pop-ups which made me question what's the future of our streets. I wrote a piesce about it then on a different platform, maybe should re-publish. Made me think so much. Thank you!
You know my sister and I read your newsletter like our favorite newspaper, right? You’re so precise, as always. I resonated so deeply with going out to support friends and people you know rather than brands. I want By Benchis to be big enough so we can host a brand trip ❤️
I'm 100% with you on the creative retreat to the south of France. My vote goes to Dordogne Valley and we'll spend all day foraging for chanterelles and strolling around chateaux and looking at cave art for inspiration

being small comes with its own pain points but I still think rn is a really great time to lean into it!!

The eye will always be drawn to beautiful things; it's a fact of life.
Your column is such a breeze of thought in the sea of overcommercialised brand activisations. Keep them coming up!
thank youuuu!!! <3
