This was a great read. I would love to see a rebirth of retail. Not only on the product and vibe side of things, but people too. Finding good things is such a struggle now, and having someone at the store who knows their stuff is invaluable I find. That however is barely happening anymore.
THIS WAS SOOO GOOD i also strongly think if ~big box~ retailers want to adopt a new mentality and introduce a new way to shop they need to pay/recruit/treat their store associates better - working retail is so hard and doesn’t pay and has bad hours and that inherently creates turnover
it’s so hard to get promoted + the bad pay/weekend shifts are so tough… i actually ~love~ working retail but wouldn’t do it as my career because of that

thank you! I agree, shopping is so overwhelming sometimes (especially occasion shopping omg), it’s nice to have someone hold your hand through it
Loved this one!

I feel like retail floor used to be sort of a bootcamp for really smart talent and now there is barely any upward mobility there?

do you have an example?
